Strawberry Delight - Delightfully Delicious!
Want to learn how to make this delicious dessert consisting of vanilla ice cream, strawberry sauce with real(!) strawberries, and a very fancy caramelized cage? It is your LUCKY day. I have coincidentally made two videos explaining the process.
What you need: Vanilla ice cream, Strawberries (Frozen strawberries works great), a Lemon, Black Pepper, Sugar and Water.
I never do any exact measurements - I rather just eyeball it. You can’t go wrong with much here, but add only a pinch of pepper. And don’t add too much water if you want a somewhat thick strawberry sauce. I overdid it in this video, and the sauce ended up a tad thin. (Still tasted great though!) To get a rich and good-tasting sauce I sacrifice a few strawberries. They die for a good cause! Just crush a couple to get the juice from them.
Make sure you rather add too little of something, instead of too much. You can always add more later on. Remember to taste as you go!
This cage here is pretty fragile. I needed 3 tries when making the video, so don’t get disheartened if you don’t make it the first time.
You’ll need: Sugar, a Saucepan, a (Ice cold!) Steel Ladle and Water.
A few tips: Have a wooden spoon handy to scrape down the sides of the pan. (I kinda didn’t care about that, but still…) Be careful so you don’t burn the sugar. (Saucepan on medium heat) It is done as soon as it turns amber brown. When you’re done, clean out the saucepan with running hot water.
